an interactive town-level map. We
are located at 181
old Highway
80
along
the "Old West
Country Trails" in the quaint
western town of Rodeo,
New Mexico 88056. Rodeo, with a population of 50 or so (no one knows
for
sure), is
nestled in
a beautiful secluded valley
in the remote southwestern
corner of New Mexico in the rugged and scenic "Bootheel"
country of Hidalgo
County. Casa
Adobe is the southernmost house in Rodeo on the east side of Highway
80. Situated
in the shadow of the magnificent Chiricahua
Mountains rising in the west
to nearly 10,000 feet and the Peloncillo
Mountains in the east, Rodeo
is defined by expansive protected rangelands,
warm desert breezes, stunning desert and mountain vistas, abundant and
diverse wildlife, and lots of peace and quiet. Because we are far from
city lights (the nearest traffic signal is 50 miles away!), you will
experience some the darkest
star-filled night skies in
the continental US.
